It’s getting to be that time of year. If you are heading out of town for the holidays- even worse. I bet you are running around, trying to get your Christmas shopping in or working late to make up for hours missed. What always seems to be pushed aside? Time for yourself- your workouts. So here is some professional advice...PRIORITIZE!
Believe it or not, I’m in the same position as you. Although I’m a personal trainer with exposure to fitness facilities, resistance equipment, and cardio equipment galore, I find it hard to carve out workout time. I’m so busy fitting in client’s workout time, running around with holiday shopping, and tending to the household duties, that even I find it hard to workout.
Here’s my tip:Decide which workouts you like and schedule at least TWO 30 minute sessions per week to get you through to January.My motto:At least you are doing something.
Sure I harp on balancing your workouts with stretching, core, cardio, and resistance. However, if you don’t have time, and really love to lift weights, then do it. If running is the one thing you can’t wait for, then do it. There’s not one person or one client I have come across in over 15 years who has shouted for joy with doing all 4 elements in their workout routine.
